Simphiwe Mehlomakulu
Co-Founder and Executive Chairman of Reatile Group

Simphiwe Mehlomakulu

Simphiwe is an entrepreneur and in September 2003, he, with his co-founders, formed the Reatile Group to invest in the petroleum and energy sectors of the southern African economy. He was appointed Executive Chairman and has grown Reatile Group over a 21-year period. He started his career in 1993 at Sasol Limited where he spent time in the Sasol Technologies division, Sasol Phenolics division and Sasol Solvents division, the latter as Global Export Manager. He joined Old Mutual Limited in 2000 as General Manager: Strategy Effectiveness Broker. In 2002, Simphiwe joined PetroSA (Pty) Ltd as General Manager: Trading, Supply and Logistics and in 2003 was promoted to Managing Director PetroSA Europe. He served as Chairman of the Board of Governors, for the South African Petroleum Industry Association, in 2004. On 1 October 2020 Simphiwe was appointed as an Independent Non-Executive Director of Super Group Holdings Limited and is a member of the Group Deal Committee, Group Social & Ethics Committee and the Group Risk Committee. Simphiwe is the Winner of 2017 Exceptional Entrepreneur Category in the prestigious EY World Entrepreneur Award™ South Africa.


Nangamso Thandiwe Hillie
Non-Executive Director

Nangamso Thandiwe Hillie

Thandi Hillie holds an Honours degree in Applied Mathematics and has more than 20 years’ experience in financial markets. She began her career in banking at Absa and Standard Corporate and Merchant Bank. As founder and CEO of Zambezi Capital, she provides financial risk advisory services to the private and public sectors.

Since 2016 she has been CEO of Sbhekuza Rail, an operating division of Sbhekuza Women Investments (Pty) Ltd, a 100% black women-owned and managed company holding a 20-year Transnet concession to run freight and passenger rail services on the Mthatha–Amabele branchline.


Hloniphizwe Mtolo
Independent Non-Executive Director – Egoli Gas, Pragma

Hloniphizwe Mtolo

Hloniphizwe Mtolo was appointed as Non-Executive Director for Pragma and Egoli Gas in 2025. He is currently the CEO of Savukazi Holdings, a family investment company with interests in real estate, hospitality, oil and gas, and property development. Mtolo has held several non-executive directorships, including roles at Think Partners SA, Mveledzo Day Hospital, and Afro Energy Group. He is also actively engaged in consulting within the energy sector, supporting SMMEs and advising companies involved in major industry transactions, including the acquisition of Shell assets in South Africa.

He spent nearly a decade at Shell South Africa, where he served as Managing Director and Executive Chairman from 2017 to January 2024 and prior Senior General Manager for Retail and Mobility at Shell. Earlier in his career, he served as Retail Operations Director at AVI Fashion Division, where he grew the store footprint from 28 to 144 locations and significantly improved profitability. He also held the position of Sales Director at Levi Strauss & Co., where he led market expansion initiatives and strengthened brand presence across regions.

Mtolo served as Chairperson of the South African Petroleum Industry Association (SAPIA) and Chairman of SAPREF Refinery. He holds a Medical Laboratory Technology diploma and has completed multiple executive leadership programmes at leading global institutions, including the University of Oxford, University of Notre Dame, and Wits Business School. He is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Global Management.


Charles Phasha

Charles Phasha, CA(SA) is Chief Financial Officer at Reatile, where he leads Finance with strategic vision and commercial acumen. His career spans senior roles at Danone, Kellogg, Jacobs Douwe Egberts, Twinsaver Group, and PEPSICO, giving him deep expertise in reporting, forecasting, trade spend, pricing, and profitability optimisation.

Known for translating complex data into actionable insights, Charles drives growth, efficiency, and governance frameworks that ensure long‑term sustainability. He holds an Honours Bachelor of Accounting from the University of Johannesburg and is respected for his work ethic, collaborative approach, and ability to build lasting partnerships across executive and operational teams.

Erika Da  Cruz
General Manager

Erika Da Cruz

Erika is an experienced energy-sector Executive and General Manager of Egoli Gas. With a career rooted in the gas industry, Erika brings expertise in operational leadership, organisational performance, and people development. Before joining the company, she held senior leadership roles at Easigas, serving on its Management Committee (MANCO).

Erika holds an MBA from Milpark Business School, as well as qualifications in Human Resources Management and Labour Law. She is committed to driving operational excellence, customer focus, and sustainable growth.


Zenzele Thwala
Head of Finance

Zenzele Thwala

Zenzele Thwala, CA(SA), ACMA, CGMA is Head of Finance at Egoli Gas, where he transforms numbers into insights that drive sound, strategic decisions. With a career spanning Big Four advisory, JSE‑listed companies, and multinationals in automotive, agriculture, and FMCG, he brings deep expertise in commercial finance, capital projects, forecasting, and business transformation.

Equally at ease with people and spreadsheets, Zenzele has led cross‑functional teams, supported growth initiatives, and presented business cases to executives and boards. Beyond finance, he lectures, mentors, and speaks to inspire others, drawing on experience in sales leadership and radio broadcasting. Passionate about growth and discipline, he believes building a career—like a good workout—requires consistency, resilience, and showing up every day.

Ray Domingo

Ray Domingo is the Sales Manager at Egoli Gas (Pty) Ltd and a member of the executive leadership team, with more than 20 years of experience in the gas industry. His expertise spans natural gas, LPG, and energy solutions across residential, commercial, industrial, and power generation sectors. Since joining the company in 2008, he has played a key role in business growth, customer development, and advancing initiatives that support South Africa's evolving energy landscape.


Thoralf “Ralph” Beckers
Operations Manager

Thoralf “Ralph” Beckers

Thoralf Beckers, known as Ralph, is a highly experienced Operations and Energy Infrastructure professional with over 35 years in the natural gas and LPG industry. As Operations Manager, he oversees gas distribution operations, infrastructure integrity, safety compliance, and performance across Johannesburg’s network. Trained in Germany through an IHK apprenticeship, Ralph is recognised for disciplined leadership, technical precision, and strong safety focus.


Roxanne Marinis
Human Resources Manager

Roxanne Marinis

Roxanne is an experienced Human Resources professional with 17 years of expertise in talent management, skills development, employee relations, performance management, and B-BBEE compliance. As Human Resources Manager at Egoli Gas, she leads strategic HR initiatives that support organisational performance, workforce development, and regulatory compliance. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Human Resource Management from the University of the Witwatersrand and is recognised for her people-centred leadership, integrity, and commitment to excellence.

HSEQ Manager

Mondo Komane

Mondo is an experienced Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) professional with over 20 years of expertise in managing high-risk environments across Southern Africa. As HSEQ Manager, she leads safety, environmental, and quality compliance along with strong expertise in ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 9001 systems. She holds a Master’s in Environmental Management and is recognised for driving strong safety culture and operational excellence.

Reatile Energy

In 2010, Reatile Energy acquired a strategic equity stake in Egoli Gas, and in May 2013 subsequently secured 100% ownership of the business. Reatile Group is a 100% black-owned and 30% black women-owned investment holding company and serves as the holding company.

Since its incorporation in 2003, the Reatile Group’s investment portfolio has continued to grow and diversify across the energy sector.
